Max Landis, amazing young director/writer

Max Landis
Son of director and costume designer John Landis, he is right now most well know for his found footage super hero film 'Chronicle' which was one of the best new superhero films made which he wrote, which really helped show the many different directions in which the whole 'people get super powers' direction those types of film's can go in.

And along with that made some of the best cheaply made short film's about comic books, having famous stars as cameo's in this short film, a lot more then just something to help get his movie out there, as he did it a few other times before with just a lot less money, and for some reason this just really find those video's amazing. with cheap costumes and wrong casting for characters just really makes those video's stand out and seem really good in that sort of bad way.

Mortal Kombat: Rebirth

This live action short really shows how a reboot should be made, ingratiating the old characters and modernizing them and making them work in a new and interesting way.

Directed by Kevin Tancharoen, who directed fame and glee the 3d concert (no one saw this coming from him at all), this was a way for him to show the movie studio that owned Mortal Kombat what he could do if it was allowed to make an 18 rated Mortal Kombat film, and it worked as he is now set to direct the film and for it to come out next year.

I don't think it will be like this...but it will beat the last 2 movie's, which isn't saying much and sets the bar quite low. but never the less the web series that came after this really dose help set the feeling of MK in the real world, sort of.

Rooster Teeth

http://roosterteeth.com/home.php
A relatively small taxes company that started off small and is one of the biggest things on the internet right now, most famous for there web series 'Red Vs Blue' that is made using the 'Halo', they at frist just started to review games when they where drunk, in a hope that a company would send them games to review, in which they only got sent one game as far as i know.

But after 'Red Vs Blue' hit it off they soon became a much bigger company over the year's and it is really amazing to see how far they have come, from being a bunch of drunk ferinds to being a full blown company and it was all with the internet.

After that they have people like Elijah Wood working with them, a full blown 3D animation guy to make the actions scene's really look like they belong in a full blown film.

The Cabin in the Woods and Scream Series

Awesome and amazing film,i put these two together because they both are very much a sort of deconstruction of each of there own genre of horror film.

With The Cabin in the woods being a deconstruction of the whole, drunken teenagers go into the woods and are murdered by a monster, and turning it on it head and really being full of interesting twist and a good story, along with amazing visuals and one of the bloodest and over the top monster attack scene's in modern film really just amazing seeing the way's that people some up with for monsters to kill other people.

And Scream, and its squeals, at first the scream film was meant to make sure that the 'slasher film' genre would die, but it did the opposite in fact  adding new life to the genre, with director Wes Craven behind it. Each film the killer acts the same way a slasher film killer would, making sure that he really dose the same as anyone like Jason Voorhee's or Freddy Kruger would act, killing the girl, the virgin lives, if your drunk and having sex your gonna die, and there is even the most famous scene in the film where the film buff nerd points these all out, and they all happen in the film, each of the 1st 3 films has the same nerdy film guy saying the rules, and each one is different as its a squeal and then a 3rd film and the rules change up each time, and everyhting he is saying is true. I have idea what made this film so popular but i am really glad it was.

Grant Morrison

Grant Morrison

One of the strangest men in comics, a comic book writer, playwright and occultist. writer of one of the best selling graphic novels in history 'Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth' with this comic showing a darker and stranger batman and his villains and what is really got him off the floor.

I also think he is the only writer to write him self into a comic book so he can talk to the character him self...which is more then a little strange to be honest, becuase there's 4th wall breaking and then there's that.

Mark Millar

Mark Millar
The creator of two of my favorite  creator owned comic's, 'Wanted' 'Nemesis' and 'Kick-ass' and its squeal, one of the greatest Superman story's ever told, where Superman was raised in Soviet Russia  'Red Son'.

an incredible creative man with each of his series starting and all ready have made it to the screen, and each time has a interesting and different take on the superhero/villain  story as a whole, each time creating memorable characters each for a different reason's of there own, either lovable or just hated for the things they have done.

Mortal Kombat Annihilation or How to make horrible squeal

One of the worst video game movies ever made, from bad acting, to many character's and pointless cameo's that made no sense what so ever, cheesy and badly made effects that got worse when compared to the first film and it really should be the the other way round, using the same opening credits as the first film and just adding Annihilation onto it.

As a fan of this series this movie really just made my eye's melt and wanted to make me burn every copy ever in the world, its so far from even being a 'bad good' film that its really not worth the money or time that was put into making this film, when it could have been put to some kind of good use and not into this horrible thing.

Jamie Hewlett and Damon Albarn: Groillaz

Jamie Hewlett
Damon Albarn
These two guys being the creative force behind the virtual band Groillaz, with the large amount of creative and amazingness coming from this virtual band this is Groillaz is really the only real famous and mainstream virtual music and i think the only band that has changed there music style with each album.

Each album coming with a story and back ground it really shows that a story can be told with both music and character's and even with some of the music video's, some being funny and other's being deep and quite creepy, which could be the said the same for some of there music, other just being good to listen to. From just the characters created and there adventures, and how they had changed between each album. even getting there own book to tell of there biography.Even the band them sleeves showing up on stage in virtual from, and i think there first big holographic performance on stage/TV.

Really showing how well the virtual band has come from where they started really, with 'Josie and the pusscat's' and other early cartoon bands, the only other mainstream famous one being 'DethKlok' with a much more heavy metal theme.

Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem

Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem,

is one of my favorite animated films, and by far some of the best music ever in an animated film. as it was all made by Daft Punk and there is no dialog what so ever, just the music and the visuals telling the story through out.

This is great, mostly for my love of the music inside it but for also how much over all the film just kick's ass, showing the best way to tell a story with out even having a character who talks, not even a narrator, all of it is just told through the music and what is happening on screen. And it really works well for this project, some of Daft Punks most famous classic songs are in this film ''One More Time'' and "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" and it really shows how much work was put into this and how tell he story is told with just the songs and animation, each character showing there emotions even if its just a simple way's with just there face and actions but even then it really is shown really well.

Burn after reading is the worse film i have ever seen

Burn after reading is a horrible film, i just don't see how people like it
yes it has a few laughs but i just didn't get it. the only thing i understood coming out of this film is that if you try and black mail a government for plastic surgery.

A few shock laughs and Brad Pitt being funny aside, this is really one of these films i just didn't like at all, i just found that it was a waste of a film, and it did seem like an interest story but didn't really reach to me at all.

Suda 51 (Goichi Suda)

The Japanese game developer who has mind bending and amazing idea's for his games, all of this world and strange takes on a games plot and character's that create his own amazing and over the top world with in each game, with a cast of insane character's, settings and plots.

Of course each of these have interesting character's and settings that really do stand out for story and creative across the board, and he is allowed to let his real creativity show through...most game's and each having its own real personal flair, most games he make's each have a feel and anyone who has played a few of his different game's you can tell they are made with the same off the wall wacky strangeness that come with each of his games.

And so i wish that i could make the kind of games and creativity he is able to.

Frank Miller and Alan Moore

                                                     Frank Miller                                               Alan Moore

Both comic book writers famous for making comics a lot more mature and really for adults, Alan Moore with comics like: Watchmen, From Hell, Batman: Killing joke, V for Vendetta  and Frank Miller for reinventing Batman, Daredevil and creating Sin City and 300.

Both of them have had a massive impact on comics, not all of it good, none of it far from good depending on who you ask.

As both of two of there most famous comics and best; Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns where the reason so many 'gritty and dark' superhero's came about.

Along with that V for Vendetta's Guy Fawkes mask is a part of culture and used by protester's and a large group of the internet, And with out the Dark Knight Returns there wouldn't be the modern 'dark and gritty  batman films that have come out, some of the lines of the Dark Knight Returns are in 'the dark knight rises' and the idea of Batman leaving is also taken from the DKR, Frank miller had a massive effect on batman as a whole and helped show the character for what he should be.

Then he wrote the Dark Knight Returns and All Star batman and robin, and every copy should be burned...ever copy ever, as it made this

And Alan Moore him self, being a great writer by i am starting to see him as a  hypocrite to be honest.

These two men had both a great impact on the comic industry and much of the modern media its self, for better or for worse.

The Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy

The Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy

This is one of my favorite modern film idea's, the basic idea of the series of films directed by Edgar Wright, written by Simon Pegg and Wright, and starring Pegg and Nick Frost.

One of the greatest comedy set of comedy films, each having its own scene's, characters and plots that have ever been in film.
Such as that scene from Shaun of the Dead, a instant film classic because of ho wit was made and how amazing of a scene it is.

Edgar Wright is an amazing director and writer and has never made a bad film, That is true 100%, no a signle one of his films is dislike by critics or by fans.

By taking idea's that don't really fit and making them into amazing films. Romantic comedy zombie film, A buddy Cop film set in the rural country side, and a 3rd film that is about a pup craw and the end of the world. This is really just amazing and each with in its own merits are some of the best English films of all time.

Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy and Douglas Adams

Over all this man is one of my all time Favorite author's, i have never read or seen anything bad that was part of the amazing series that he has made. From Hitchikers Guide to Dirk Gently this man is one of the funniest men and has written i have fallen in love with his work from the moment i first saw the 'hitchiker's guide to the galaxy' and am always happen to read or watch again. Anything the man was involved with for me is just amazingly witty and creative.

His death saded me greatly but the trilogy of 6 was kept going by Eoin Colfer.

The film based on the book also partly written by Douglas before his death, which just made it even more amazing

One of the greatest comedy comics

One of the most fun comics books that has ever been written, i 100% hope i can write something 1/2 as good as this.

The things in his comics are off the charts insane. in wich some double page spread of the comics is just the team fighting down a hallway fighting weirder and weirder bad guys.

That's just one part of this comic, the whole book as a whole just screams and leeks awesomeness to me

Also i think one of the few comic only super teams to have a theme song

These two youtube channels

http://www.youtube.com/user/mrweebl?feature=CAkQwRs%3D

http://www.youtube.com/user/SecretAgentBob

Both of these people get away with making some of the most random, nonsense and pointless video's for a job, i really find it amazing that they can do this and would love to be able to do somthing as creative and amazing as these channels do.

Such as that, its a song about Bacon and has got 360,912 views and proberly even more by the time its taken me to write all of this,

Or this video that is really summed up by the tile, Hit It With a Car: Cakes on an Ironing Board, just random and pointless.

In other words i love these two creative and amazing things

Inspiration: good and Bad

Uwe Boll
This man has ruined far to many video game movie's, and so i want to at least make one film better then him. Which shouldn't be hard considering how bad nearly every film he has made is. And in all honestly i just figured he was an all right guy who made bad films, till the whole challenged his Critics to boxing matches, and then backed out when one had some marital arts training. -_- that made me see him in a different light.
And so not only dose he make bad movie's, like really really bad movie's, he is also a chicken when fighting people who can fight back.

One of my hopes is that i make a much better film then him. Which if you have watched any of his films shouldn't really by that hard, to be spot on a better 'House of the dead' film.

So in a way this German film maker is both a good thing and a bad thing

http://shadesofmanhattan.com/

This is something that made me see how you can make somthing creative and amazing free, when this internet person made this fighting game, making the sprites, the storys the background and the voice acting all from scratch it really did make me want to go and do it my self
